Agency Framework has Gone Live in Northern Ireland

A framework that ultimately aims to try and stop nurses and midwives from being signed up with expensive agencies has now come into play. If you work with a nurse agency or if you are signed up with a nursing recruitment agency then this is great. If you are carers seeking care jobs then you will understand what an impact this could have overall. A framework is going to support them but at the same time it is also going to impact nursing and healthcare. Those who are on the framework have to give healthcare workers and nurses a fair price. The department of health has come out to say that they are making huge progress so far and that they are doing what they can to try and tackle industry spending where possible. Reducing the general reliance of agency workers right now, is the right thing to do. Dolores McCormick who is the associate director of the RCN has said that the union are going to be monitoring how the general roll out and the framework is going to help those in practice. The RCN have been engaged in the work that is going to shape the ongoing measures. They are going to increase their general reliance on agency staff and they have also gone as far to recommend the introduction of the healthcare support framework in May too. While they do want to continue to support the work that is being carried out, they also have to make sure that they support patient safety as well as making sure that people are being treat as a priority where possible. This is not always the case but at least they are doing what they can to give support to those who well and truly need it.
