A report has been launched and it details the abuse of babies. If you work as part of a nurse agency or if you work with a big nursing recruitment agency, then you will understand what a negative report this is. This applies to those who are seeking carers who might be seeking care jobs too. Of course, the report has been discussed with social services as well as the NHS. Nursing staff and the paediatric ward were surprised, and they were also worried that a child had been discharged. The child in question was injured and they were non-accidental. There were three cases where this happened and as the parents behaved well around the infant, they did not suspect anything. The parents said that the infant was dropped while being burped and the child hit their face on the shoulder blade. The nurse did note lack of affection from the father to the baby and the baby appeared to be in distress as well. The issue was that the flag was not put on his file and the baby then went home. The baby was brought to the ED a total of four days later and he had a bloody nose. The parents were ignorant about the injuries and the scan noted a lot of fractures. As a result of this, the police were called, and social services were quickly involved. A lot of people were surprised and worried that the infants were discharged, and they also had concerns about the safeguarding for the child as well. At the end of the day, nurses did trigger an investigation but more has to be done in the future. This is the only way to stop children who could be at risk, from experiencing harm.
