Those who work in care jobs have to do what they can to try and help others and they also need to take steps to deliver on policies that improve the health of the nation. Jamie Waterall who is holding the leadership role currently has come out to say that there has to be a greater level of investment right now and that this is especially the case when you look at public nursing. He would like to see an established workforce plan for the public healthcare sector because if he doesn’t then this could mean dire things for the future.

Professor Waterall has said that the population is currently being faced with a lot of adversity and uncertainty. When you look at recent years, as well as the pandemic, it’s safe to say that there is a huge cost of living detriment. Challenges have to be used so that people can seek out opportunities. That being said, that is very difficult to implement in this current day and age. Now is the time to make a change but it is difficult to do this when we live in a time of adversity. Nursing schools and nursing families are no better example of how things can work across life courses.

Of course, things are changing quite rapidly but at the end of the day, more has to be done to give nurses the support they need. If this doesn’t happen then things could start to regress, which is the last thing people need.
