Are you an experienced and confident Complex Care Nurse looking for flexible, well-paid community-based work in Durham?
We are expanding our team to support a client with complex clinical needs within their own home. This is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled nurse who is comfortable working independently and delivering high-quality, one-to-one care in a community setting.
As a lone worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring safety, clinical excellence, and overall wellbeing while promoting dignity, comfort, and independence at all times.
Clinical skills required:
- Tracheostomy care and management
- Ventilation support
- Respiratory care and monitoring
- Autonomic Dysreflexia (AD) management
- Spinal care
- Bowel management, including digital stimulation and bowel medication
- Bladder management
- Urethral and suprapubic catheter care
- Administration of medication, including via nebuliser
- Enteral and complex medication management
- Baseline observations and ongoing clinical monitoring
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 6 months’ UK experience as a Registered Nurse
- Proven experience in complex care, spinal injury, or high-dependency homecare
- Confidence working independently as a lone practitioner
- Strong clinical judgement and ability to respond to changing needs
- Compassionate, professional, and person-centred approach
- Valid NMC PIN and up-to-date clinical training
- DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, high-quality, one-to-one nursing care in the client’s home
- Monitor and manage complex respiratory and neurological needs
- Administer medications and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Recognise and respond promptly to clinical changes or emergencies
- Promote dignity, independence, and emotional wellbeing
- Liaise effectively with families and the wider multidisciplinary team
