Nursdoc is currently seeking highly skilled and experienced Complex Care Nurses to support clients with advanced healthcare needs in Derby.
This is an excellent opportunity for dedicated Registered Nurses who are passionate about delivering exceptional, person-centred care within clients' homes. You will be supporting individuals with complex respiratory and neurological conditions, ensuring they receive safe, effective, and compassionate care that promotes independence and quality of life.
Essential Clinical Skills & Experience
Applicants must be fully competent and experienced in the following areas:
- Tracheostomy care and management, including Tracheostomy basic life support
- 24/7 ventilation support via Tracheostomy
- Respiratory assessment and escalation management, including the use of an Ambu-bag
- Oxygen therapy administration and monitoring
- Chest physiotherapy
- Cough Assist therapy
- PEG feeding and medication administration
- Moving and handling using specialist equipment
- Management of complex respiratory conditions and emergency situations
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- A minimum of 3 months' UK nursing experience within a complex care environment
- Proven experience supporting clients with tracheostomies, ventilators, spinal injuries, and other complex healthcare needs
- Strong clinical knowledge of respiratory care and emergency interventions
- Experience with bowel and bladder management, catheter care, and medication administration
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
- A compassionate, professional, and patient-focused approach to care
- A DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Nursdoc
- The right to work in the UK
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality specialist nursing care within clients' homes
- Manage and monitor tracheostomies and ventilator-dependent clients
- Provide respiratory support, escalation management, and emergency interventions where required
- Administer oxygen therapy and utilise respiratory support equipment, including Cough Assist devices
- Deliver chest physiotherapy in line with care plans
- Administer nutrition, hydration, and medication via PEG
- Support bowel, bladder, and catheter management
- Carry out clinical observations and ongoing health assessments
- Use specialist moving and handling equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and care records
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for clients
