Are you a caring, experienced, and reliable Senior Healthcare Assistant looking for flexible and rewarding work in Croydon? Nursdoc is expanding its team to support residents within nursing and care home settings, delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a professional and supportive environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated healthcare team, supporting individuals with a range of physical and complex care needs while promoting dignity, independence, and well-being. As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering hands-on care, supporting junior staff, and administering medication safely and effectively.
What we're looking for:
- A minimum of 6 months' experience within a UK care home, nursing home, or healthcare setting.
- Medication Administration Training certification (essential) with evidence of competency and certification available.
- Experience administering medication safely and accurately in line with care plans and policies.
- A compassionate, professional, and person-centred approach to care.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to work confidently, using initiative and supporting less experienced team members when required.
- A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply through Nursdoc.
- The right to work in the UK and the ability to travel within the local area.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality personal care while promoting dignity, choice, and independence.
- Administer medication safely in accordance with training, policies, and individual care plans.
- Maintain accurate medication administration records (MAR charts) and care documentation.
- Support residents with daily living activities, mobility, nutrition, and hydration.
- Monitor, record, and report any changes in residents' physical or mental well-being.
- Assist with moving and handling procedures where required.
- Support and guide Healthcare Assistants within the team.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents at all times.
