Short-Term Progress that Hospitals have Made is now Falling Away

The RCN have stated that the lessons that were learnt in the Francis report are now being long-forgotten about. This is even the case when you look at the opportunities that are present to try and increase the staffing level for nurses. The comments were made in a response to a brand-new study, and this is especially of note to those who work in a nurse agency. If you do work in a nursing recruitment agency, then you will also know that the NHS is severely understaffed and that now patient lives are being put at risk as a result. Something seriously needs to change if hospitals want to try and face the major challenges that are being put in front of them.

The director for the RCN has stated that patients are troubled and that the public need to be warned about the deadly risks that are being run at the moment. The NHS have one out of every five posts vacant right now. The report is right to try and raise some concerns about the increased numbers for support staff, and these need to be matched by rises in the amount of registered nurses that are present too. If they want to try and keep the appropriate mix of skills in a care setting, then this is of special importance. The RCN is trying to call for the government to commit to brand-new law for England and they are also trying to keep staffing levels safe with the effective care that is present. A huge investment is needed in order to keep the NHS on track with the long-term plan that they have and if this is not done soon then it’s safe to say that more and more people will suffer as a result.
