The CN Campaign is Going to Try and Protect Younger people from Online Harm

The RCN has joined up with the Royal College of Physicians in an attempt to try and support the Daily Telegraph campaign. They want to try and protect children from using any form of social media. The campaign calls on social media to try and sign up to a certain duty of care. This will really force them to do more to stop grooming, suicide and self-harm. They are also going to work hard to try and protect them from seeing images regarding body issues. Fiona Smith is the lead for the nursing and young people agency. She has stated that the campaign is going to call for a slice of the company profits to be invested and that these are going to be used to try and protect children and their mental health.

Fiona Smith has stated that she believes duties of child care exist in the offline world, and therefore they exist in the online world too. It doesn’t matter whether it is grooming, violence, bullying or anything else of the sort because social media firms need to understand that there are millions of pounds worth of profit that comes from responsibility and that children need to be kept safe when on an online platform.

This is great news because children do need a high level of protection when they use the internet. If you do go through a nursing recruitment agency, then there is a high chance that you will have heard of this in the past. Those who are part of a nurse agency may also see changes being made to try and help those who need it the most, so this is an important factor that you need to keep in consideration going forward.
