Are you a compassionate, resilient, and reliable Carer / Support Worker looking for flexible and rewarding work in Bedford?
Nursdoc is expanding our team and we are currently recruiting PMVA-trained Support Workers to provide high-quality, person-centred care to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, complex needs, and behaviours that may challenge.
This role involves working as part of a 2:1 care team, offering both emotional and practical support in a safe, therapeutic environment where dignity, respect, and wellbeing are always prioritised.
To be considered, you must have:
- A PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) certification
- Previous experience supporting individuals with mental health challenges and/or complex needs
- A calm, professional approach when responding to challenging behaviours
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A dependable, flexible, and caring attitude
- A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply through Nursdoc
Key responsibilities:
- Work as part of a 2:1 support team, ensuring safe and consistent care
- Support service users with emotional reassurance and practical day-to-day needs
- Assist with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and grooming, maintaining dignity at all times
- Use PMVA skills to support de-escalation, safe intervention, and risk reduction when needed
- Encourage positive routines, independence, and meaningful engagement
- Observe, record, and report changes in wellbeing, behaviour, and daily needs
- Communicate clearly and professionally with nurses, carers, and the wider team
