It would seem that over 13 unions have come out to say that they are greatly disappointed in the RCN. This includes those who have come up through a nurse agency as well as those who work in a nursing recruitment agency. That’s not all though, those who are seeking care jobs and carers careers have also come out to say that they are not at all happy with how things are going. The unions have expressed their thoughts, saying that the RCN agreed to a formal vote to see if it would be possible to get a formal vote to try and sign up with the UK-wide position. This would apply to the 2022 and 2023 position for the pay round. The RCN have unfortunately gone and breached this agreement by saying that they are going to be changing their position. For a lot of people, this is simply not acceptable.

The RCN and the various other unions have submitted a lot of evidence to show that they have gone against their word and they have also outlined calls for the retention package for any members. They want to try and outline the fact that what they did was wrong and that they would not put a number on the size of pay raise that they were anticipating. They have said that it has to be inflation boosting and that it has to also absorb any increases to the NHS pension contributions that are being made. Some staff will have their real living wage impacted as well and this is not good to say the least. The RCN have submitted some evidence that shows that they have complied with the PRB but not everyone is supportive of this movement.

They are broadcasting them on social media and they are doing this in a bid to try and attract as many people as possible. The staff who are involved in the videos have come from various backgrounds and some of them work as occupational therapists. You also have executive directors who are taking part to try and do their bit. They have come out to say that they want to try and attract new people to come and work with them and they also want to try and fill the gaps in the industry.
The aim of the movement is to try and let people know what they will be doing and why their place of work is so supportive. They have said that if people were to join the hospital then they would be getting health support, wellbeing support and that they would also get access to things such as free car parking. They would be able to have flexible working with the best people and they would also be part of an inclusive organisation that wants nothing more than to encourage new people to achieve their true potential. The video has since gained widespread attention.

It would seem that this topic is a bit closer to home for carers and those who work in care jobs. That being said, it would seem that nursing students are rallying to do their bit as well. Students are trying to come together to try and make sure that they raise as much as possible to try and help support people during the horrific invasion that is happening right now.

Sophie Millard is an adult student at the Colchester campus and she has launched her own appeal. She has asked people for any donations that they can spare to try and aid those who need it the most. She has said that everyone who has the ability to help, should try and do so. She has said that she wants to give a bit of hope to those who might have been impacted by the hostilities and that as a student nurse, she feels for those who are trying to do their bit for the greater good. She herself is a mother and she said that she is sick of seeing the devastation that is happening, particularly amongst children. She has said that she wants to give them a bit of hope and that she wants to try and do her bit through donations and support. Her son has helped her in deciding what she should buy to donate to children and also help her in her quest to offer support to those who truly need it. Her work is admirable to say the least and it is going to make a difference.

If you have come through a nurse agency or if you have experience working with a nursing recruitment agency for carers, then you will know how stretched the NHS is right now. It would seem that there are so many care jobs that need to be fulfilled but there are not enough staff to do them. Either way, it would seem that now there have been some new concerns raised about the demands that are being put on staff as well as the pressure that is being faced. Staff are now having to deal with so much and they have a new wave of challenges to anticipate as well. Studies have shown that there are over 6 million patients who are now on the waiting list for things such as routine care.
Stats have also laid bare the amount of backlogs that are happening and the long waiting lists are just not acceptable. Nursing staff are now finding it hard to provide people with the care that they need, and they are now dealing with a depleted workforce. The key to trying to tackle these issues is to try and take action while also making sure that there are new staff being brought on-board.

It’s so important that issues like this are being dealt with but it would seem that the NHS do not have the funds to allocate. This is only going to change if there are more avenues of support offered but the government do not appear to be doing this. Things need to change drastically, and the impact of Brexit is being felt more than before, especially in the nursing sector. Who knows what the future holds but right now it would seem that the NHS is certainly on its knees.

Guernsey is now able to offer jabs to those who are 16 and 17 years of age. This is a booster jab, and it can be given to those around 3 months after they have had their second jab. If you want to book the jab, then you need to go to the local health centre. From there you will see that there are people who have experience in Guernsey healthcare jobs. They can give you the jab right there and then, and this is a very efficient system to say the least. The great thing about this jab being offered is that it helps to bring the county more in line with the rest of the UK. This comes after the advice from the joint committee was released. The third jab can only be given if you have waited three months after your second dose and it has been said that a lot of time has been taken over the decision. If you have experience in Guernsey healthcare jobs, then you should know that you are in high demand to try and help staff to give the jabs they need to accommodate the new category of people who are eligible. It has been said that young people and children have to be supported where possible and that a conversation has to be had about whether or not it is suitable for them. People are also trying to work around the clock to ensure that the invitation letters are sent out to the right houses.

Those who are aged 12 or above will be given a jab if they are vulnerable. They are also going to be offered the jab if they live with someone who is immunosuppressed as well. This move will ensure that more people are protected.
