Scotland’s Nurses are Going to Receive a Milage Rate Increase
Community nurses who work in Scotland are going to get an increase to their general milage rates. If you work in a nursing agency or if you are seeking care jobs in the carers industry then you will know what good news this is. It’s also going to benefit those who work in a nursing recruitment agency as well. The move comes from the Scottish regulatory body, the STAC. They are going to try and see NHS staff who tend to visit patients in the community and who also rely on their car for things like travel. They are going to get a rate increase of 5p per mile. The RCN have been trying to campaign for this for quite some time and they are trying to make sure that everyone gets the support that they need when it comes to doing their job. They are also going to help those who have an increase in fuel costs as well, and this is major to say the least. The college have said that this will be of some relief when you look at nursing staff who have been under a lot of financial strain and that they are also going to do what they can to give the right level of care to their patients too.
The STAC have come out to say that the NHS staff are going to get a temporary enhancement and this is going to go from around 56p to around 61p when they go from 3,500 miles or under. If they go above this then the rate is going to increase from 20p to 25p. The rates are of course, going to be applied to any travel that takes place from April 1st and that this is going to be reviewed on a month-by-month basis.
RCN has been Accused by NHS Unions of Breaching Coalition
It would seem that over 13 unions have come out to say that they are greatly disappointed in the RCN. This includes those who have come up through a nurse agency as well as those who work in a nursing recruitment agency. That’s not all though, those who are seeking care jobs and carers careers have also come out to say that they are not at all happy with how things are going. The unions have expressed their thoughts, saying that the RCN agreed to a formal vote to see if it would be possible to get a formal vote to try and sign up with the UK-wide position. This would apply to the 2022 and 2023 position for the pay round. The RCN have unfortunately gone and breached this agreement by saying that they are going to be changing their position. For a lot of people, this is simply not acceptable.
The RCN and the various other unions have submitted a lot of evidence to show that they have gone against their word and they have also outlined calls for the retention package for any members. They want to try and outline the fact that what they did was wrong and that they would not put a number on the size of pay raise that they were anticipating. They have said that it has to be inflation boosting and that it has to also absorb any increases to the NHS pension contributions that are being made. Some staff will have their real living wage impacted as well and this is not good to say the least. The RCN have submitted some evidence that shows that they have complied with the PRB but not everyone is supportive of this movement.
Mental Health Nurses have to Do Their Bit to Attract New Colleagues
If you are currently part of a nursing recruitment agency or if you are seeking care jobs then you will know how important it is to make sure that people are coming into the industry on a regular basis. Studies have shown that right now there is a bit of a delay with people coming into a nurse agency and those seeking carers jobs but that being said, nurses themselves are hoping to change this. Staff who work at a mental health trust have gone out of their way to try and create two short films. They are broadcasting them on social media and they are doing this in a bid to try and attract as many people as possible. The staff who are involved in the videos have come from various backgrounds and some of them work as occupational therapists. You also have executive directors who are taking part to try and do their bit. They have come out to say that they want to try and attract new people to come and work with them and they also want to try and fill the gaps in the industry.
The aim of the movement is to try and let people know what they will be doing and why their place of work is so supportive. They have said that if people were to join the hospital then they would be getting health support, wellbeing support and that they would also get access to things such as free car parking. They would be able to have flexible working with the best people and they would also be part of an inclusive organisation that wants nothing more than to encourage new people to achieve their true potential. The video has since gained widespread attention.
Nursing Students in Essex are Uniting to Collect Donations
If you are part of a nurse agency or if you are seeking work through a nursing recruitment agency then you may have seen that people are now rallying to try and collect donations for Ukraine. It would seem that this topic is a bit closer to home for carers and those who work in care jobs. That being said, it would seem that nursing students are rallying to do their bit as well. Students are trying to come together to try and make sure that they raise as much as possible to try and help support people during the horrific invasion that is happening right now.
Sophie Millard is an adult student at the Colchester campus and she has launched her own appeal. She has asked people for any donations that they can spare to try and aid those who need it the most. She has said that everyone who has the ability to help, should try and do so. She has said that she wants to give a bit of hope to those who might have been impacted by the hostilities and that as a student nurse, she feels for those who are trying to do their bit for the greater good. She herself is a mother and she said that she is sick of seeing the devastation that is happening, particularly amongst children. She has said that she wants to give them a bit of hope and that she wants to try and do her bit through donations and support. Her son has helped her in deciding what she should buy to donate to children and also help her in her quest to offer support to those who truly need it. Her work is admirable to say the least and it is going to make a difference.
Figures Show that the NHS is Being Stretched Beyond Its Limit
If you have come through a nurse agency or if you have experience working with a nursing recruitment agency for carers, then you will know how stretched the NHS is right now. It would seem that there are so many care jobs that need to be fulfilled but there are not enough staff to do them. Either way, it would seem that now there have been some new concerns raised about the demands that are being put on staff as well as the pressure that is being faced. Staff are now having to deal with so much and they have a new wave of challenges to anticipate as well. Studies have shown that there are over 6 million patients who are now on the waiting list for things such as routine care.
Stats have also laid bare the amount of backlogs that are happening and the long waiting lists are just not acceptable. Nursing staff are now finding it hard to provide people with the care that they need, and they are now dealing with a depleted workforce. The key to trying to tackle these issues is to try and take action while also making sure that there are new staff being brought on-board.
It’s so important that issues like this are being dealt with but it would seem that the NHS do not have the funds to allocate. This is only going to change if there are more avenues of support offered but the government do not appear to be doing this. Things need to change drastically, and the impact of Brexit is being felt more than before, especially in the nursing sector. Who knows what the future holds but right now it would seem that the NHS is certainly on its knees.
MPs are now Taking Action as Care Homes Unite
MPS from all across Sheffield are now uniting. They have all signed a letter saying that they want to try and alleviate the crisis that is happening right now. They want to get some urgent support and they also want to give support to those who need it the most. The letter spells out the urgency of filling the Sheffield healthcare jobs that are present right now and it also talks about making sure that newcomers are attracted more to social care. They have launched a campaign and they are calling on people to try and make sure that they are able to recruit across a much bigger market. They also want to have a better sponsorship system and this will allow much better rates of pay. Who knows what is going to happen as the result of this letter but at the end of the day it would seem that more needs to be done to try and make sure that there is an improved sponsorship system. They also want to reach a much bigger labour market. The immediate access of staff would also help those who are seeking Sheffield healthcare jobs. Nicola Richards, who is the main chief for the firms has written to the MPS, saying that the campaign is being taken to the minister and that the government cannot afford to let things get any worse before they take some kind of action.
Who knows what the future holds but right now it looks like things have to change. If they do not then things will become even more dire in the future and this is not what anyone needs. It’s important to stay on top of news like this, as it could influence you if you work in the healthcare sector.
Social Care Research has Gotten £10 Million in Funding
It has been announced that well over £10 million in funding has been given to the Sheffield Centre for International Research. They want to try and create a centre for care and they also want to try and make sure that they do what they can to make sure that the right research is accessible. With this in mind, they also want to try and give evidence regarding social care too. The centre ae going to try and make sure that the right kind of help is given. They also want to help with things such as decision making and practices too. This will help to bring about more studies and it will help to improve social care quite drastically. If you are seeking Sheffield healthcare jobs then this is of great importance because it shows that people are now trying to improve the service across the board.
The University of Sheffield are going to try and launch a collaboration and they are doing this across five different universities. They are working in a high-profile care sector and they are also trying to seek support from international research stations too. If you are trying to find Sheffield healthcare jobs then this is great news as it just goes to show that people genuinely care about improving the service. You also have those who want to work with academics, partners, agencies and even public policy experts. They want to make sure that those who need it are getting the help they need. Only time will tell what the future holds but right now it’s looking bright and it would seem that things are only going to be moving in the right direction. Stay on top of the latest news to find out more about this.
Guernsey are Offering Booster Jabs to Teens
Guernsey is now able to offer jabs to those who are 16 and 17 years of age. This is a booster jab, and it can be given to those around 3 months after they have had their second jab. If you want to book the jab, then you need to go to the local health centre. From there you will see that there are people who have experience in Guernsey healthcare jobs. They can give you the jab right there and then, and this is a very efficient system to say the least. The great thing about this jab being offered is that it helps to bring the county more in line with the rest of the UK. This comes after the advice from the joint committee was released. The third jab can only be given if you have waited three months after your second dose and it has been said that a lot of time has been taken over the decision. If you have experience in Guernsey healthcare jobs, then you should know that you are in high demand to try and help staff to give the jabs they need to accommodate the new category of people who are eligible. It has been said that young people and children have to be supported where possible and that a conversation has to be had about whether or not it is suitable for them. People are also trying to work around the clock to ensure that the invitation letters are sent out to the right houses.
Those who are aged 12 or above will be given a jab if they are vulnerable. They are also going to be offered the jab if they live with someone who is immunosuppressed as well. This move will ensure that more people are protected.
Alderney NHS Service is Unsustainable
Reports have been released and they show that the Alderney ambulance service is not sustainable and that serious changes have to be made. There are going to be discussions held next week to try and make sure that people are able to highlight issues. It is said that Guernsey healthcare jobs are high right now as there is not enough staff. On top of this, a lot of staff are operating on a level of shared loyalty. They are doing their bit to help those around them and they are also trying to make sure that they do not leave anyone without the support they need. It is said that more and more people need to try and respect the service by giving it the funding it needs. If you are seeking Guernsey healthcare jobs then you will know that the system is strained right now. The staff have agreed to all of the recommendations that have been made in the report and they also want to find ways to try and fund the required projects in the future.
Of course, paramedics and other volunteers have provided a brilliant service so far and this is very noteworthy when you look at the additional strain that is being placed on the island as a result of the pandemic. We do know that additional support has to be given in order for people to be able to receive the care that they need. If funding is not given then the service will not be as resilient as it could be and this could mean major issues for the future. A small team from the AACE have stated that they have gone to the island to figure out how the service has been operating and what they saw justified a lot of changes that need to be made.
It’s So Important to Talk about Mental Health. Here’s Why
Emily Nuttall, who is 28 years of age, has spoken out about her struggles regarding mental health. She wants to try and create awareness about mental health, and she is also trying to tell people that it is now more important to have this discussion than ever before. If you are seeking Guernsey healthcare jobs then you will understand that right now, there is a mental health crisis going on and that it’s so unfortunate to see that people are not getting the support that they need. That is why people like Emily are doing what they can to try and give support to others. They are also putting in the work to make sure that they do their bit to get people talking. She has come out to say that those who are working in Guernsey healthcare jobs are doing what they can but at the end of the day the service is strained. That is why she is saying that speaking about mental health is so important and that if you neglect to do this then that is when people happen to fall through the cracks. If you want to make sure that you are not one of them then you should know that there are mental health support groups out there that can help you. On top of this, you may also find that it is more than possible for you to speak out on forums and groups. Either way, people like Emily are doing what they can, and it is so vital that people support this movement. People are flocking to her side to make sure that she is able to vocalise her message, and this is fantastic to say the least. She has already helped hundreds of people in her quest to offer better mental health support.
